the whimsical collection

Well, I made myself take a break from work in the middle of the day so that I could have a little fun with clay. I have been so busy that I haven’t been able to do anything just for myself.

I wanted to try out some new things, particularly, painting with clay, and making a rainbow earring set. I mostly just played around, and had a lot of fun. I wasn’t expecting to actually find a sellable product today. Most of what I made was to practice my skills, and I am really interested in learning to paint with clay. The results I’ve seen from others can be so beautiful.

Of course, through play a new collection was declared for my shop. I call it the Whimsical collection. Things that fit in this category as I make them, will be found here.

My handmade rainbow earrings, made for fun today, but somehow found their way into my shop.

I know my rainbow earrings are FAR from perfect, but they truly are whimsical and I enjoy them, and I thought that there just might be someone out there who sees the joy in them, so I put them in my shop.

My latest creations, pre-glaze. The four on the left are meant to be floral, but aren’t super recognizable which means, these pair went into my personal collection – rather than on my site.

I think I am going to focus on making more whimsical pieces throughout the week. I just realized the bottom left set resembles a head of cauliflower. It was not my intention to make a head of cauliflower, although I was going for the floral theme, so I suppose that puts me in a similar family. Vegetables are close enough, right? LOL.

Speaking of veggies, sometimes making dinner just works. Tonight I made up my recipe and threw a lot of miscellaneous things together, and I’ll be darned, it actually turned out pretty tasty. Ramen noodles, Garlic – honey glazed chicken, and toss in some broccoli. It’s a pretty amazing meal.

I guess that is just how I roll. I am a trial and error kind of artist. I like to try out all sorts of things, and see what I like the best. Sometimes, happy accidents happen, like my rainbow earrings, and I actually like them enough to see if anyone else would like them too.
